Someone trying to put in a false claim, faking a false fall, how to defend yourself?
My partner is a Manager in a retail shop! Anyway a lady in the shop asked for the manager to complain about a ticket on the floor that someone could slip on, but did say she never fell over but asked if it could be picked up and to make a record of her complaint. She made a record of it and she was then to sign it but this lady said no. Approx 2 hours later the same lady phoned in to say she has been to the doctors because she hurt her back badly and now in so much pain and insisted it to be logged in the accident book! What are the procedures to ensure the company does not lose ot to this obvious false allegation? Her area manager says thats all you can do we have no proof because there is no CCTV! Please help!
Contact your insurance company immediately as they have investigators and lawyers with lots of experience in these matters. I have to disagree with the answer that gives you suggestions what *you* should do to defend your business … it’s not something that well-meaning amateurs should get involved with. Just remember that you pay a lot of money for liability insurance … use that resource. Good luck!!
