Camcorder to PC – Help?
I have a JVC mini DV – I have a PCI CCTV card all connected. I have 1 set of AV wires -Black with to connectors, and red (Just basic AV wires) On my card I have 4 slots (to have four cams) So all I need to use Is 1 slot – What colour AV wire do I put into the slot – red or black….. then dose the same colour lead go into the camcorder? Im just getting lost now.
Also, dose the cam need to be on to be reconised, or will the PC just run everything

Im using the cam as a CCTV camera on my motorbike over night, I do not have fire wire…. AV is the only option
The easiest and highest quality way to get video from a camcorder into a PC is to use FireWire. Even my ancient Sony Digital 8 camcorder has a FireWire connector on it. That keeps everything digital during the transfer. Using the analog audio and video connections will give you lower quality and it’s harder to set up.
If you use the analog lines, the PC cannot recognize your camcorder because it won’t have a digital connection to it.
