Do CCTV cameras in England often deter violent crime and secure convictions?
They might not deter because the kids are often so drunk they don’t know they’re beating someone to death
Very rarely – it has been shown that they have little or no effect on crime in areas where they are put up.
They only occassionally help in identifying the culprits.
Basically they are like a placebo. Joe public says they want them to “stop crime” without realising they may very little overall difference.
