How important are Auto Focus Points in a DSLR?
How important would you say these are? Do you ever use your auto focus, or is you camera always on manual? Please explain why!

They are important but I wouldn’t base my camera choice on how many auto focus points it had. You will find most people use auto focus. It works quite well most of the time. Now I don’t always use auto focus. I prefer to focus manually for portraits. I also focus manually when doing macro work. For events, sports or just walking around auto focus is good to have. Higher end lenses also allow you to manually adjust focus at any time. Even when the auto focus is turned on. This makes it easy to adjust if you don’t like where the camera chose to focus.
Auto focus works quickly and accurately 95% of the time though.
