how to start car with anti theft built in?
asked u guys yester day about no spark on95 cavalier. all your answera wrew good. found out car has anti theft built in .Cant realy see no panel lites flashing but has anti theft fuse. how can i get it started?
The car’s manual tells you how to re-set the PASS system. GM cars usually require you to leave the key in the ignition in the on position for about 10 minutes. The anti-theft light on the dash should flash during this process.That will reset the fuel lock, thus allowing the car to start.
The anti-theft light on the dash will probably remain on after you reset the system. Then, you will have to go to a dealer to have them reset the light. The light is harder to reset than the PASS.
When all else fails…. read the car’s manual. I promise you, it’s in there.
Also… Some GM cars were known for having bad ignition switches. This would probably be a dealer repair unless you know how to do such a R & R.
